How to Make Art Fridge Doors
Ever
wondered how to make refrigerators or fridge doors into art? As part of the 2008
ENERGY STAR Recycle My Old Fridge Campaign, partners are invited to create
either a decorated whole fridge or fridge doors. Partners are encouraged to enter
their best finished fridge art piece to be considered for display in the national
Recycle My Old Fridge Art Exhibition to be held at the National Building
Museum in Washington, D.C., the last week of August 2008. A celebration event
will be held on September 2, 2008, and will recognize the three winning art pieces!
The purpose of creating these unique art works is to promote partner participation
in the campaign and to be a conversation starter with consumers. These step-by-step
instructions will guide you through the process of turning a dull old fridge door
into a work of art!

This sample contract language can be inserted into a new or existing contract with a metal recycler to ensure proper recycling of old refrigerators.
There are many resources available to find a refrigerator recycler in your area with whom to contract.
• Visit the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries Web site at www.isri.org. Click on "Member Director" then enter your City, State and Zip Code. Choose "Shredded Scrap" (these recyclers are most likely to accept refrigerators).
• JACO Environmental, Inc. and Appliance Recycling Centers of America, Inc. (ARCA) offer turnkey refrigerator recycling programs. Visit:
